![]() Maestro Worsdale | Brooklyn native Brian Worsdale became the artistic director of the Lesbian & Gay Big Apple Corps Symphonic Band in 2005. His studies began at the Manhattan School of Music Preparatory Division (now Pre-College Division) under the tutelage of Maestro Jonathan Strasser. He served as assistant conduct or for the Pre-College Symphony, Philharmonic, and Repertory Orchestras. He has worked with a variety of artists, including members of the New York Philharmonic, the Metropolitan Opera Orchestra, and the Young People’s Chorus of NYC as well as Glenn Egner, Marcus Rojas, Julie Wilson, Jamie Bernstein Thomas, Julie Wilson, Gregg Whiteside and countless others. |
| As an educator, Mr. Worsdale is both artistic director and conductor of the French Woods Festival of the Performing Arts in Delaware County, New York; one of the most comprehensive and premiere performing arts programs in the United States. As an alumnus of ISO (Inter School Orchestras of New York) Brian is also the founder and conductor of the award-winning ISO Symphonic Band. In 2009, Brian was invited to take the Lesbian & Gay Big Apple Corps to Carnegie Hall. This historic performance was the band ’s first appearance in the great hall with the entire symphonic contingent. Brian is also active with the international Lesbian and Gay Band Association, having been a guest conductor for their 2009 conference in New Orleans and artistic director for the 2010 LGBA Conference in Indianapolis. | |
