Come Play With Us

Whether you're gay, straight, or somewhere in between, the Lesbian & Gay Big Apple Corps wants you!

We are an inclusive organization welcoming musicians of all persuasions and all levels of ability. No auditions required. We do require that all musicians be able to read music.

To join us, contact us via our web-form, or simply show up at one of our rehearsals - check our calendar and come play.

Don't have a horn? We'll work with you to secure one. Even if you don't have an instrument, the LGBAC wants you!

Symphonic Band

As a symphonic band we perform several concerts each year in venues ranging from local schools and churches to Carnegie Hall. The 2010 Fall Season starts 1/4. Rehearsals are Monday evenings from 7:00pm to 10:00pm. We accept all classic wind ensemble instrumentation - and sometimes the not-so-classic (ever see a chimbasso?)

Marching Band

As a marching band, we perform many events annually, from the Gay Pride Parade in Manhattan, to Gay Pride celebrations in Brooklyn, Queens, the Bronx, Washington D.C., Long Island, New Jersey, Boston, Rochester, and Montreal. The band has also marched in other noteworthy parades, such as the 200th anniversary of the Statue of Liberty, the Welcome Home parade for Operation Desert Storm, and President Obama's inaugural parade. The marching band includes a precision flag team, twirlers, and flag and banner carriers.
