We need your help!
The LGBAC may just be the most rewarding community organization in the Greater New York area - and nobody knows that better than our members. However, it takes thousands of man-hours each year to run the organization and our ensembles.
We need volunteers - and that means you. We are looking for volunteers for the following assignments:
- Resources Coordination - assist our Resources Coordinator with equipment management; maintenance of our storage space; instrument loans, and rehearsal space bookings
- Front of House - assist with the front-of-house at concert events. Selling concessions; providing ticket-holders with information; accepting tickets; ushering and distributing programs; soliciting patrons. Front of house duties are restricted to those who are not playing in that particular concert. Sign up your partner, friend, or family member.
- Setup and Teardown - assist with setup and teardown of rehearsal space and concert seating, percussion, and podium.
- Band Aide - A great opportunity for Symphonic Band members to help out their Marching brothers and sisters! Band Aides are the lifeline of the marching band at each gig, and provide the necessary water, emergency assistance, crowd control, and support needed to pull of our lofty performances.
- Committee Membership - As the Board of Trustees tries each year to expand the effectiveness of our corporate endeavors and to mature as an organization, we have setup a committee structure for many key efforts. Committees include the following:.
-
Membership
Audit & Finance
Marketing & Promotions
30th Anniversary
Event Production
Web Services - Fund Raising - Their are many fundraising opportunities throughout the year. For instance, our friends at the Big Apple Ranch offer us coat check duties throughout the year as a way to raise cash.
- Development & Grant Writing - The next level of maturity for our newly re-organized corporation will come in large part from the funds available in government and NGO grants, corporate sponsorships, and endowments. We are particularly looking for qualified professionals in this space.
If you are interested in learning more about any of these activities, please e-mail our membership co-ordinator.
