Brian Worsdale's conducting career began in 1995 with the
founding of what is now known as The ISO (InterSchool Orchestras of New York)
Symphonic Band. This ensemble of junior high, high school, and collegiate
members is considered one of the finest youth ensembles in the Metropolitan New
York Area. The ISO ensemble has appeared at every major concert hall in New
York City and most recently made their Carnegie Hall Debut. Brian also serves
as The ISO's associate conductor for their symphony orchestra and assistant
conductor and brass specialist for their concert orchestra.
A music educator since 1998, Brian is the founder of the instrumental program
at PS 41 in Greenwich Village and served as director of brass bands at St.
Hilda's & St. Hugh's School, a private school on the Upper West Side. Brian
also serves on the faculty for the Preparatory Center at Brooklyn College.
During the summer months, Brian serves as the Director of Music of the French
Woods Festival of the Performing Arts in Delaware County, New York. There he
leads the symphony orchestra and numerous pit orchestras while overseeing the
music program for one of the largest and most diverse performing arts camps in
the world.
Brian has served on the board of trustees of the Bergen youth orchestra NJ, and
also served as its assistant conductor and frequently appeared on that podium.
He is in demand as a guest conductor at district music festivals throughout the
US and has conducted bands and orchestras in Spain, the UK and Ireland.
Brian is a New York native and is a proud resident of Bensonhurst, Brooklyn
